I photographed the Makarov pistol in clean left and right profile views, using a forensic ruler in each frame to give the images the authenticity of formal evidence photography. Providing scale and orientation, the ruler reinforces the procedural realism of the scene and helps the weapon read as accurately logged for a police case file.
I created a police report, built around the forensic examination of a Makarov style 9x18mm pistol. Combining an AFIS report, evidence photography, technical specifications and a hospital report, the package was designed to feel like a credible evidential record, with enough procedural detail.
